- advised on the design and implementation of governance systems to promote sustainability in more than 23 countries (including drafting legislation, guidelines, permits and other regulatory tools);
- drafted and negotiated complex international environmental treaties (e.g. the treaty establishing the Benguela Current Commission, the Lake Tanganyika Convention and the Forests Protocol to the SADC treaty);

- written publications or articles for the IUCN, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the European Commission on many topics (e.g. the legal and institutional aspects of integrated coastal management, the monitoring control and surveillance of fishing vessels, the regulation of foreign land ownership, and the regulation of agricultural marketing).
